An ideal customer profile (ICP) is a hypothetical description of the type of person most likely to buy your product or use your service because of the value it provides to them. It is often also referred to as the ideal buyer profile, and it includes all the qualities that would make this person or company the best fit for what you have to offer.

ICPs are often used in conjunction with account-based marketing because targeting those that fit within an ICP is extremely important for business growth. When used correctly, an ICP can help businesses define the problems they solve, align their product or service with customer needs, and generate high-quality leads for sales teams.
