Deploying 1up will transition your team from a manual process to a faster automated workflow. Here’s how we’ve seen customers achieve the most success:
We recommend inviting teammates who are involved in your sales and security questionnaire process.
Use 1up’s Role-Based Access (RBAC) to delegate permissions to different users. For example, collaborators can review and edit answers, but cannot see or modify your knowledge base. All newly invited users are Collaborators by default.
Here’s an overview of users and their permissions:
1up provides simple usage metrics for all users across your dashboard. We will be adding more granular metrics and insights in upcoming releases.
As a best practice, we recommend reviewing all responses to make sure they are accurate. Here’s what you can expect for each response:
Why doesn’t 1up provide confidence scores?
Large language models (LLMs) struggle with confidence scoring. This is because LLMs are primarily trained to predict the next word in a sequence based on patterns in the data, not to directly estimate uncertainty or confidence.
1up uses a binary system to determine if a query can or cannot be answered. You might see other products that provide confidence scoring. In our view, these scores are misleading at best. Additionally, an AI model should never be used to grade its own performance. We believe it’s always best to let the reader decide on the quality of a 1up-generated response.
1up generates answers using your knowledge base. While that does prevent 1up from pulling incorrect information, we still recommend you review all responses.
Want to make an improvement? Click the Edit button. 1up will automatically remember your improvements and will use your preferred phrasing for similar queries in the future.
Need help with a response? Assign it to your teammates for review.
Click “Assign” and choose a teammate. Your colleague will get an email asking for their help in reviewing the response.
Your teammate will receive an email notification that they need to review this question:
Once the user clicks “Complete in 1up” they can see the assigned question. Clicking “Mark as Done” will complete the review:
The Assignments tab shows you all responses currently being reviewed by you and your teammates:
Don’t like a response? With Regenerate, you can ask 1up to try again using different sources:
Once you’re done reviewing, click Export answers to download your responses.
1up includes the following information with every file export:
For XLSX exports: The information listed above will be added to additional columns in the spreadsheet. If 1up was able to process drop-down lists in the original questionnaire, the values will be pre-selected. 1up will also export a separate file containing only the answers.
For DOCX exports: The information listed above will be inserted beneath the questions. 1up will also export a separate Docx file containing the answers.
Now that you’ve completed the questionnaire, you can save it to your Knowledge Base as a new source of truth.
What if these newly saved answers conflict with older information in my knowledge base?
1up is biased towards more recent information. When it finds a conflicting source of information it will default towards using the more recent source. This way, as you continue using 1up, your knowledge base will get better and better.
The “Complete and Lock” function will complete your questionnaire and prevent editing. You can now save it to your Knowledge Base.
The Ask 1up tab provides fast answers to short questions. It’s best used for:
Ask 1up currently supports a maximum query length of 250 words and is best for getting fast answers to short questions. For longer, complex queries, we recommend uploading them to the Automate Questionnaires tab.
Unhappy with a response? Downvote your answer.
Downvoting tells 1up not to answer like this in the future. It also stores the answer in your downvoted library so you can improve answers for future queries. You can view all downvoted answers in the Q&A section of your knowledge base.
You can also make corrections by clicking Improve this Answer. Any improvements you make to an answer will be automatically remembered for similar queries in the future.
